Follow Along With Me On My Journey To Success
I mentioned a few posts back that I joined Alex Jeffreys Coaching Program. It’s really called “Marketing With Alex”. The first webinar was November 24th, 2008. That’s not even 4 weeks ago and I have learned so much in so little time. We’ve had 4 or 5 webinars in this time and you talk about great information that Alex is giving us.
Lucky for me all webinars have been around 6:00pm Eastern Time, as I live on the east coast in Massachusetts. Alex and others live in the UK and it’s 5 hours ahead of me so we don’t even start until 11:00pm his time. And I must tell you these are marathons going from 3 to 6 hours.
I’ve been doing Internet Marketing for almost two years now and I am not very happy with the results. Sure I’ve made some money but is it what I set out to make. Absolutely not, actually not even close. I’ve struggled just like every other Internet Marketer has, whether or not they will admit to it or not is another thing. I have spent plenty of money on other products that claim to be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but they all leave something out along the way and just leave you hanging.
Not Alex Jeffreys, he’s throwing the kitchen sink at us.
Well actually he’s throwing $1,000 at us. He told us all last night that he’s holding a competition for his students. The student who drives the most traffic to his/her blog in the next two weeks will win that $1,000.
There are no losers here. One person will have a thousand dollars more in his pocket but all of us will have more traffic.
I’m going to stick my neck out and ask everyone out there to follow along with me on my journey to success. I’m going to tell you what I’m going to do to drive traffic to my blog before I do it, then I will post the results on my blog. Yes, even the failures along the way and I’m sure there will be many. As long as I fail forward that’s OK.
I have to go make a plan now, so til next time…

Hi Jeff,
I will be interested to follow you and compare the different strategies we employ to generate traffic.
As you said, Alex is throwing everything at us and the great part of it is, he can already visualize the results that will be achieved. It’s great he’s dangling the carrot of $1000 though! ;lol; I’m sure as you say we’re all going to benefit even if we aren’t the one with the prize.
The race is on!

Hi Jeff Good Information
I like Your Blog. Good Stuff Henry
Hi Jeff,
Very interesting blog. I am an Alex Jeffreys student as well and really enjoy the course. One cannot help but learn since Alex is an excellent teacher. I plan to describe how I plan to generate traffic on my blog tomorrow. Take a look you may get some ideas.
Good Luck,
Bob Allison
What a great looking blog, Jeff!
Your details about the bad weather reminded me of a really bad ice storm in Georgia when I was a child. It made such an impact on me I still remember it…decades later.
I hope the weather won’t keep you from having computer access too often!
Good luck with the traffic!

I now have my squeeze page and blog up and running – with a little help from my fellow student Garry Parkes. This is considerably further than I have ever got in 18 months on my own. Being a part of the TEAM has been a great decision. I can finally see the road map – now I need to follow it as closely as possible.
Hi Jeff,
Found you in my mail box, don’t know how you got there but you are very welcome! You weather sounds horrendous. Just don’t kow how you can cope in those conditions. 10 days ago we had about 2 ins. of snow in North Yorkshire and some of the UK ground to a halt.Guess we are not used to your extremes.
I like your site. Not sure about mine or whether I like it yet, what do you think? It’s take me ages to get it up and running ( not a teckie ). Can you add me to your student list. Not sure how to add you to mine, any non teckie tips?
The $1000 carrot will spur us all on, guess I’m a late starter but nothing venture nothing gain.
Speak sonon
Cheers
Colin
Hi,
Just wanted to say hello and see how you’re doing with traffic generation
and to tell you how the things working out for me.
I would really like to hear everybody’s story regarding traffic.
I will give you my insights to what is working for me.
I went on squidoo and created my first lens which was actually fun.
I noticed that within first 20 minutes after I saved my page there was 6 views already.
I could not believe it.
I also created twitter account and made connection from Squidoo to twitter.
I still need to check how twitter works.
Also I wanted to mention another site that I have not heard anybody mentioned so far.
It is called
http://delicious.com/about
It is social bookmarking site to increase the traffic to your site.
I am creating my account there now and will make a post about it with more info.
I know some people that praise this site very highly.
I really hate to come on here asking people to come on my blog
but sometimes that is the only way to get your ideas through.
I have created testimonial site and would like everyones participation
and believe that this kind of site would help us in the future
when our relationship with Alex expands.
If you are interested in being part of this site or you would like to see
my page at squidoo just to have an idea that will help you to start your page off,
have a look at my blog.
I dont want to mentioned my sites here as I dont find it tasteful.
That’s it for now,
Speak to you soon,

Hi, Jeff, thanks for dropping by. Well since the 3.00am finish and go to bed on Friday morning I have not had a chance to get very much done in the driving traffic stakes.Won’t be the last in the Parish to go to bed tonight I’m knackered, the peril of being 55 !!
Friday was my Volkswagen Club’s Xmas dinner and that was another 2.00am to be night and Saturday was a must do some Xmas shopping type of day.
Today I had the bungalow to clean, washing to do etc etc, perils of being a bachelor! Was due to have visitors this afternoon so could not get into much and then that was postponed to this evening so complete wipe out really.
I have visited a few of the higher profiled blogs and left some comments and also popped some posts onto a couple of Social sites to see if that gets things going.
since putting the site up I have also been sending E.Mails to the members of List Joe, List Dot Com and Viral URL as I have been using them for a while. Within hours of initial launch I saw quite a bit of traffic but this has waned in t eh past few days probably as everyone is caught up in the Xmas fever too.
I have also produced my own banner and placed a banner ad in one of the banner exchange sites to test that water too.
With all of my previous efforts this is always the point where things seem to stagnate a bit so hope this wont be the case this time.
Norman
Hi Jeff!
How’s your traffic plan coming along?!
I have put a post on my blog about traffic tactics that have worked for me so far. One of the best has been Squidoo. I only have one lens on there at present but it has been a high traffic source.
My youtube video has also had a lot of hits and driving traffic to my ppp. I haven’t used twiter to it’s full potential but the tweetmyblog plugin is very effective (details in my post).
Let me know what’s working for you!
All the best
Mark

Hi just found you from Alex’s brainstorming session.
The support from other students is terrific and I’m sure that we can get to where we want to be eventually. Alex really doesn’t want to leave anyone behind which is great. My learning curve has been huge so far!
I’ll add you to my blogroll.

Hi Jeff,
I like your blog, you’ve done a great job so far, I’m enjoying being in Alex’s coaching program, I’ve learned more from him than anyone else I’ve ever purchased products from in the past.
I’m in GA and I know what you mean about being glad we’re in Eastern time zone so we don’t have to pull all-nighters to get the coaching calls done. I’m adding you to my blog roll and I hope you’ll do the same for me.
Best wishes and Merry Christmas!

Hey All,
Sorry I’m a bit behind here for reasons beyond my control but I will be adding all of you to my blogroll as soon as I can.
I can see already from the small amount of traffic I’m getting that if you don’t keep up with the comments you will have problems down the road.
Thomas> I asked Alex about having an ecover made up and he responded only as he can. He got on Skype live in the webinar and sent a message to his graphic designer and asked him to design an ecover for “List Building With Alex”.
As far as if I know a lot about Wordpress stuff, well I can get around pretty good and if I can be of any help just go ahead and ask and I will help you if I can.
Mark> I’ve just barely started working on my traffic plan. My plan is on paper and on my blog so now I will be held accountable so I’d better get my butt in gear. I plan on using Squidoo as you said here in your comment. Unfortunately I know nothing about it. I will find out though.
Norman> Don’t make yourself sound so old. Your only 55 buddy and I’m right behind you at 53. I hope I still have a few good years in me.
Gordan> I see you joined Twitter. I have been getting some traffic from Twitter. I learned an easy way to get a bunch of followers. I plan on making a video on it and maybe I’ll put a few more things about Twitter in there. Keep in mind that I’m no expert but I am getting some traffic.
Later All,
Jeff Sargent
