Today’s post is written by David Walker who runs a make money online blog and recently hosted a successful JV Giveaway. After adding over 3,000 subscribers to his mailing list in little over a week, David explains how to use giveaways effectively to build your own.

1. What is a Giveaway & Where to Find Them?

To put it simply, a giveaway is a time-limited, free membership website where marketers (known as contributors) submit their “gifts” (often a free info product) so that members who register can download them.

Every business has it’s own unique set of tools to perform various tasks each day required to keep it moving forward. One of the most important tools of an Internet Marketer is some kind of email marketing software such as Aweber. This software tool is also know as an Autoresponder.

A most important feature of this software is click tracking. This feature keeps track of how many times a link is clicked and who clicks it.

Do you sometimes start feeling sorry for yourself because you’ve been trying to make money online for so long and just can’t seem to get anywhere.

For the longest time I kept hearing about JV Giveaways and how great they were to help build your list. I had joined many as a member and downloaded plenty of great free products but I never really considered joining as a gift contributor (JV Partner).

I had the product and the squeeze page already and was using them to build my list but it was at a snails pace. So what was holding me back from becoming a JV Partner.

Are you spending all your time watching videos instead of implementing the things that you learned how to do in the last video? If you fall into this category don’t feel bad, you are not alone. Video has taken the Internet by storm in the last couple years and there’s no sign of it letting up anytime soon. In fact, I’m sure it’s going to get much bigger in the years to come.

But beware, watching videos can be addicting. There are so many out there on sites like Youtube, Viddler, and Revver. You’ll also find them on blogs, links to them in your emails from marketers trying to sell you their products, and in membership sites.

Alex Jeffreys challenged myself and the rest of his students to step out of our comfort zone and create a video. All we had to do was to make a video and submit it to Youtube and the video that received the most views would win.

Sounds simple enough right, unless of course you’ve never done it before which is my case.

I’ve been working all week on this video contest. I didn’t have a camcorder so I had to borrow one and learn how to use it. Then I’ve been having nothing but trouble with the software. I did manage to finally record the video and next I had to figure out Youtube which this will be the first time I’ve submitted a video.
